Kia Ora! My name is Taylah, and I was born and raised in West Auckland here in Aotearoa. I spent a few years studying youth development in the United States where I obtained my Master’s degree and developed my passion for youth work. I have worked with young people for a few years in various environments, and I loved every minute of it! I had the pleasure of working in direct service prevention work with female identified youth aged 10-18, where I developed trauma informed skills and approaches to empowering young people. I also love sport and recreation, having the summer of a lifetime in the USA where I was a camp counsellor for an international summer camp!
At Raise Up Massey, we are youth led and strive to connect with the community through planning engaging events and workshops. Massey has a strong foundation for community activation and I believe there are multiple opportunities for young people to engage with the Massey community! I encourage young people in the Massey area to apply and develop important skills that they can take into their adult life. Raise Up is a great way to meet new people, build confidence and add to your CV!
